Amazon has announced a new set of accessories for its Kindle e-readers, aiming to simplify page turning and charging. The most notable is the Kindle Click, a Bluetooth remote that allows users to flip pages without touching the device. According to Engadget, the remote includes a wrist strap and works with all current Kindles, including models launched today. It is priced at $35.

The Page-Turn-Cover is a case with physical buttons that attaches magnetically to the new Paperwhite and Colorsoft Signature Edition Kindles, which have pogo pins. It costs $80. A wireless charging stand was also introduced; it recharges those Signature Edition models via pogo pins and props them up for viewing. Amazon says the accessories will ship on October 28 and are available for pre-order now.

The Kindle Click is similar to a remote Kobo announced last year, though its buttons are equal in size and it costs $5 more. These accessories are part of Amazon's broader Kindle refresh, but compatibility is limited: the cover and stand only work with the new Signature Edition devices that have pogo pins, while the Click works with all current models.

For readers who often find themselves straining to reach their e-reader—whether on a plane, in bed, or from a distance—the remote could be a practical addition. The cover and stand, however, require the latest premium Kindles, making them less accessible for existing device owners. The charging stand, when paired with the Click, could create a hands-free reading setup, but this requires both accessories.

Engadget notes that the accessories are available for pre-order and will ship on October 28. Pricing places the Click above Kobo's equivalent, while the cover and stand are premium add-ons for Signature Edition owners. Amazon's move follows a trend of adding physical controls and convenience features to e-readers, but the value of each accessory depends on individual reading habits and device compatibility.

As with any new product, real-world performance and durability remain to be seen. The success of these accessories may hinge on whether they meaningfully improve the reading experience for a broad set of users or only for those with the latest hardware. For now, Amazon is betting that physical buttons and remote control will appeal to readers seeking more comfort and flexibility.
