Gamers eager for the next big reveal from Rockstar Games won't have to wait for the game's November launch. The studio announced that a special preview, titled 'Grand Theft Auto 6: An Extended Look,' will debut on Netflix on Aug. 27 at 12 p.m. PT, followed by a YouTube premiere at 6 p.m. PT the same day on a newly created GTA 6 channel.

Details about the content or duration of the preview remain scarce. Rockstar hasn't commented on the nature of the partnership with Netflix or whether it signals a broader collaboration. Notably, this marks the first time a major game preview has been gated behind a subscription streaming service.

'Grand Theft Auto reveals have become cultural moments in their own right. The anticipation and fandom around Grand Theft Auto 6 is unprecedented, and we're honored that Rockstar Games has partnered with us to debut the next part of the Grand Theft Auto story with Netflix members first,' said Brandon Riegg, Netflix's vice president of nonfiction series, in a statement. He emphasized Netflix's ambition to be the home for 'the most ambitious storytelling, from any medium.'

This isn't the first brush between the two companies. In 2023, the Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy landed on Netflix Games. And while Netflix has pivoted its gaming strategy in recent months—removing over 20 titles in July after launching an ad-free kids' gaming platform in April—the service still hosts more than 100 games, including hits like Sonic Mania Plus and Red Dead Redemption.

GTA 6 is scheduled for release on Nov. 19 for PS5 and Xbox Series consoles, priced at $80. The extended look airs just over two months before that date.
