Amazon has discounted the Ninja Pod and Grounds Coffee Maker to $99.98 from its $129.99 list price, according to a TechRadar report published for International Coffee Day. The deal brings the single-serve machine below the $100 mark, though TechRadar notes it has been available for as little as $79.98 previously, albeit not recently.

The appliance is positioned for people working from home who want the convenience of K-Cup pods alongside the ability to brew with ground coffee. According to the report, the machine supports four brew styles: Classic, Rich, Over Ice, and Specialty. The Specialty setting produces a concentrated coffee intended for making coffeehouse-style drinks, TechRadar says.

Capacity differs depending on the brewing method. With K-Cup pods, the machine handles four sizes from 6oz to 12oz. Switching to ground coffee expands the options to six sizes, ranging from 6oz up to 24oz. The included 56oz removable reservoir and permanent filter support the ground-coffee mode, and the package also ships with a Ninja Scoop, a removable brew basket, and a pod adapter.

A built-in fold-away milk frother is another feature highlighted by TechRadar. It works with hot or cold milk as well as dairy alternatives, and can be removed for cleaning. The machine also includes integrated storage for the brew basket or permanent filter when not in use. At 5.51 inches wide, it is described as compact enough to fit on a countertop without taking up excessive space.

TechRadar identifies two groups for whom the machine may or may not suit. The report suggests it is a good fit for home workers who want more choice than a basic pod machine provides, particularly because ground coffee unlocks the larger 24oz brew size. Conversely, TechRadar advises skipping it if you regularly need to brew an entire pot for several people, since the device is better suited to making individual drinks rather than multiple cups.

The broader context here is the ongoing competition among single-serve coffee makers that try to bridge the gap between pod convenience and the flexibility of ground coffee. Ninja's approach combines both in one countertop unit, with the frother adding a route to milk-based drinks that basic pod machines typically do not offer. However, TechRadar's assessment is that of a shopping recommendation rather than an independent lab test, and the reported price history suggests the current $30 discount is not the lowest the machine has seen.

TechRadar also mentions two other brewing devices in the same article: a manual coffee maker that combines French press, pour-over, and espresso-style brewing using air pressure and micro-filtration, and a three-in-one machine that makes espresso, drip coffee, and cold brew with a 25-setting conical burr grinder. Those references appear as part of a broader roundup of coffee equipment rather than direct alternatives to the Ninja model.

For prospective buyers, the key trade-off described by TechRadar is between individual-drink flexibility and batch brewing. If your household needs several cups at once or you frequently host, the Ninja machine's single-serve design may be a limitation. If you mostly brew for yourself and want to switch between pods and grounds without owning two machines, the reported feature set and current price may make it worth considering.

The deal is available at Amazon. TechRadar's report does not specify an end date for the discount, and prices on Amazon can change without notice. Readers should verify the current price before purchasing.
