OpenAI's ChatGPT service suffered a worldwide outage on [date], disrupting access to the popular AI chatbot for users across the US and Europe. The incident began at approximately 5 AM ET, with reports indicating that the application failed to load previous conversations and displayed error messages citing 'too many concurrent requests.' Sidebar animations froze, preventing users from sending messages.

The disruption extended to OpenAI's Codex platform and multiple API endpoints. According to the company’s status page, 12 API endpoints were affected. OpenAI acknowledged the issue at 5:30 AM ET, stating it was investigating. A fix was applied shortly thereafter, and by 6 AM ET, ChatGPT was fully operational again, resulting in roughly 50 minutes of downtime.

While the outage was brief, it underscores the growing reliance on AI tools for both personal and professional tasks. OpenAI has not disclosed the specific cause of the failure. Users are encouraged to monitor the official status page for any further updates. The company has since confirmed that services are stable.
